The Lone Ranger Trailer with Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp

Yesterday the trailer for Disney’s The Lone Ranger released online. It stars Armie Hammerwho I enjoyed in The Social Network, and Johnny Depp, who I enjoyed in — well, anything but a Tim Burton directed movie.

To make this as concise as possibly: watch the trailer. The film looks immensely fun.

The Lone Ranger releases in theaters July 3, 2013.

Third Tron Film is a Go

For a couple years now the sequel to Disney’s Tron: Legacy was up in the air. They wanted the continuation of the original to be a starting point towards a franchise, but it didn’t exactly pan out that way. Regardless, it was still a success, and a third film is finally moving forward.

Third Star Wars Trilogy Gains Two More Screenwriters

Disney and Lucasfilm are fast at work to lay down the groundwork for the third Star Wars trilogy. As previously reported, Michael Arndt is writing the screenplay for Episode VII — but it isn’t the only film entering pre-production. Things are set in motion for episodes VIII and IX with an update on two more screenwriters joining the trilogy.

Disney Acquires Lucasfilm; Seventh Star Wars is a Go

Throughout the years Disney has grown into a behemoth of an entertainment company, and with their growth, they acquired other companies that furthered their success. One of the most recent and biggest example is Marvel. Together they propelled Marvel properties up and hit new records with the highly acclaimed movie, The Avengers. Despite such examples, it still came as a surprise that they are now acquiring Lucasfilm.

Official Photo of Daniel Day-Lewis in Lincoln

Disney released an official photo of Daniel Day-Lewis as Abraham Lincoln in — you guessed it: Lincoln. The man really does disappear in a role. And if Day-Lewis portraying Lincoln isn’t enough, the movie is directed by Steven Spielberg.

Oh, and just to throw it out there: Joseph Gordon-Levitt is also in the movie as Robert Todd Lincoln.

Lincoln is slated for release November 9.
