When Disney first announced their intentions to film a new Star Wars trilogy, J.J. Abrams was honest that he didn’t plan on directing one of the new movies. He already had a lot on his plate with film and television — not to mention gearing up for the release of Star Trek into Darkness. But that didn’t stop president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, from trying to persuade the director to get involved.
Disney Cancels Star Wars 3D Prequels
A while back there was this billboard that enraged me each time I passed by it. I knew it was irrational, but I felt this brief anger that would wash over me. Who could blame me? It was an advertisement for Star Wars: Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace . . . in 3D! The re-release was a reminder that something so atrocious could make an undeserved return to cinema.

Disney and NASA have partnered up a couple times in the past. Once with giving NASA The Avengers to uplink to the International Space Station for six cosmonauts to enjoy. The second is developing hands-on activities about living on the Space Station, using Buzz Lightyear for the fictional yet educational voyage for children.
Casting Complete for Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D.
Marvel and Joss Whedon have been hard at work on bringing S.H.I.E.L.D. to television. Whedon is spearheading the show and writing the pilot with his brother, Jed, and Maurissa Tancharoen; who have all worked together on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.
