Years back Marvel sold film rights to various comic book characters to different studios. Fox bought X-Men, which included rights to nearly all the mutants. But there’s two whose film rights are a bit complicated; they belong to both Marvel and Fox.
The final scene in The Avengers was the reveal of the mad titan, Thanos. It caused speculation to run wild on when Marvel’s big bad would wreck havoc in the film universe. First it was thought he would be the antagonist in The Avengers 2, but then Marvel Studios revealed their “Phase 2” of movies.
Last month, in a Chris-obsessed fashion, actor Chris Pratt was announced by Marvel to portray Star-Lord, the leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Last week, former wrestler Dave Bautista was official cast to play Drax the Destroyer.
Yesterday the marketing machine at Marvel Studios released yet another Iron Man 3 poster. Again we see Tony Stark in a heavily damaged suit of armor, and various armors behind him taking flight. But this time, Pepper Potts is dramatically grasping onto Stark. Who could blame her? That’s one dashing hero.

Joss Whedon’s anticipated TV pilot S.H.I.E.L.D. has entered post-production and has made the man just a little more open about the feel of the hopefully new series.
Marvel’s “Phase 2” is well underway, with Iron Man 3 leading the charge, and Guardians of the Galaxy as the newcomers on the big screen. Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige, said they’re already planning out “Phase 3”, which will bring more comic book characters on the big screen.
Marvel is gearing up for another marketing push for Iron Man 3, starring the one and only Robert Stark Jr. — I mean, Robert Downey Jr. A few promo art pieces are circulating online to drum up excitement. A couple show the new War Machine armor — and no, I don’t mean the Iron Patriot version. In another promo piece, we’re treated to a few armors in the background that look dramatically different than what we’re accustomed to. It’s safe to assume they’re villainous suits.
Phase One of Marvel’s shared universe concluded with The Avengers, and it left people wondering if Phase Two would ramp up the cameos and inclusion of more superheroes in the upcoming films. The first movie to usher in Phase Two is Iron Man 3, and Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios shared a few words about the film:
