    Robert Downey Jr. has found massive success with Marvel Studios and the Iron Man franchise. Makes sense since the man is the embodiment of Tony Stark — sans the suits of armor and alcoholism. Downey/Stark’s smartass ways is just too appealing. But no, it wasn’t Iron Man that I was going to talk write about.

  • Steven Spielberg Adapting Robopocalypse

    Daniel H. Wilson’s novel Robopocalypse is being adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg. Actors Ben Whishaw and Anne Hathaway have recently been cast in lead roles, with Chris Hemsworth still in talks. That alone gives production a strong start; all three are charismatic and more than capable.

  • Fox Plans Multiple Marvel Films

    Fox and their Marvel creative consultant Mark Millar see The Wolverine as the beginning of their own version of Marvel Studios’ “Phase One”. And it doesn’t mean just the X-Men. Fox has the film rights to all the Marvel mutants and the intention is to expand past the X-Men. They went as far as comparing the upcoming film to Iron Man.

  • Michael Arndt to Write Star Wars: Episode VII Screenplay

    Disney meant business when they acquired Lucasfilm and propelling it forward with a seventh Star Wars movie. George Lucas will write the screenplay for the film — no, I’m kidding. Screenwriter Michael Arndt, who has written Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3, will draft the script for Star Wars: Episode VII.

  • More Details on Iron Man 3

    Marvel’s highly anticipated Iron Man 3 is apparently packed with new elements and characters. Ben Kingsley is portraying the main antagonist the Mandarin, the Iron Patriot armor is making an appearance, and the film is influenced by the Extremis story arc. But it doesn’t end there.
