I think we can all agree that none of the Daniel Craig Bond movies can be considered “Classic Bond.” But the theme song for the new film, Skyfall, brings some classic back to the series in the form of Adele. Sexy, smooth, and, well, Bondish, the song is reminiscent of Shirley Bassey’s “Diamonds Are Forever” from the film of the same title starring the one and only Sean Connery.

The other two Bond films starring Craig don’t exactly have the best theme songs. Casino Royale’s theme is downright boring, not to mention the lack of naked ladies in the opening credits. I mean, really. Alicia Keys and Jack White’s theme for Quantum of Solace really isn’t that bad, in my opinion. It definitely fits with the modern James Bond that Craig portrays, but it could have been done better.

“Skyfall” was released online today, October 5th, which producers have called “James Bond Day” to commemorate 50 years of Bond since the release of Dr. No in 1962. Skyfall will be released in theaters October 23rd and will also be the first Bond film to be shown in IMAX.

Now let’s just hope there are still dancing naked ladies during the opening credits.
