    The trailer for the horror film Sinister was released online. It stars Ethan Hawke as a crime novelist Ellison, who moves with his wife and children into a new home. He hopes the new setting will help inspire him with a new book. Sounds pretty sinister, huh? Okay, okay, not just yet — Ellison discovers old films in the attic that shows previous families of the house and their murders.

  • Wild Spending on The Lone Ranger

    The Lone Ranger has been having its share of troubles since filming began. Disney initially halted production due to the project going over budget. So the director, Gore Verbinski, agreed to cut scenes and his own pay; star Johnny Depp and producer Jerry Bruckheimer also agreed to cuts to bring the cost down.

    So what’s the problem now?

    Despite the adjustment, production is once again going over the budget. And that’s not the only problem. They’re supposedly weeks behind schedule. So Disney is again asking for Verbinski to cut more scenes to bring costs back down — and most likely to bring things back on schedule.

  • The Woman in Black Sequel on the Way

    The Woman in Black was a self-contained story, so when I heard there is a planned sequel in the works, I didn’t know what to make of it. Of course they could go the prequel route instead, or throw another parent and child into the mix.

  • The Hunger Games: Catching Fire in the Works

    The film adaptation of The Hunger Games is a success — so it was no surprise that a sequel is in the works. The second book is now being adapted as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

    The second movie will explore the consequences of Katniss’ and Peeta’s actions in The Hunger Games; along with Katniss becoming a symbol of a rebellion against the Capitol.

  • Hugh Laurie Joins Robocop Remake

    News on the remake of Robocop continues to surprise me. First, we had Joel Kinnaman taking up the role of Alex Murphy, who becomes Robocop; then Gary Oldman comes onboard as the scientist who creates him, and Samuel L. Jackson as a media mogul. And now? Hugh Laurie of House will portray the villainous CEO of Omnicorp.

  • The Almost Easter Egg in The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man

    Despite being Marvel characters, the film rights to The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man belong to opposing movie studios. So unfortunately we never had Spider-Man gracing the big screen with the other superheroes. But news broke out that the film studios were planning to acknowledge each others’ movies.

  • Poster, Photos and Info on Judge Dredd

    We’re getting closer to the release of Judge Dredd, which means more photos circulating for the remake. Yes, there was a film loosely based on the comic years ago starring Sylvester Stallone; yes it was a very cheesy but fun movie, but it barely took things from the source material.

    The remake stars Karl Urban as Judge Dredd and co-stars Olivia Thirlby as rookie cop Cassandra Anderson, with Lena Headey as the antagonist, Ma-Ma.
