Fans are treated with new posters from Iron Man 3 while the opening comes closer. One showcases Don Cheadle as James Rhodes donning the Iron Patriot armor. And as you’d guess, it’s much more patriotic than his War Machine armor. But don’t worry, like Stark, Rhodey will wear more than one suit.
Director Marc Webb is working on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and informed fans that the Spider-Man suit was redesigned with “gnarly web shooters and bigger eyes”. Yesterday on Twitter, he teased fans with a shot of the bigger eyes for Spider-Man. Unfortunately, no web shooters just yet.
Hugh Jackman may have finished filming The Wolverine but playing the character is far from over. In not-so-surprising news, Jackman will reprise the role for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. It makes perfect sense since Wolverine played a huge role in the graphic novel. A Days of Future Past without Wolverine would be very odd.
Legendary Pictures is quietly at work on Gareth Edward’s version of Godzilla — well, quiet enough after their promotion at last year’s Comic-Con. Of course at the center of it all is the monstrous Godzilla, wrecking havoc and leveling cities like only he can. But who will actually act in it?
Disney really is taking advantage of their Star Wars property. They’re bringing a new trilogy into fruition, and they’re planning spinoffs for fan favorites Han Solo and Boba Fett. Both spinoffs will take place within the timeline of the original trilogy. In Solo’s case, it’ll take place before A New Hope. I’m strangely more than okay with the news.
The casting for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was completed with additional cast members; Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Paul Giamatti as Rhino, and Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn. Director Marc Webb’s version of our favorite web-head is going to feel a lot more familiar with those characters joining Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker and Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy.
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is always a busy man. Marketing for his movie Pacific Rim is currently underway, and there’s already reports on another one of his projects. He’s set to co-direct a stop-motion adaptation of Gris Grimly’s version of Pinocchio, with Mark Gustafson. Recently, it was believed that the project was put on hold, but Grimly cleared things up on Twitter:
Marvel Studios has completed their “Phase One” of films, and they’re most out there movie was Thor, which dealt with other worlds and gods. It ventured the furthest from realism, but do we really want realism in our comic book films? Well, aside from Nolan’s efforts with The Dark Knight trilogy. Now Marvel is continuing to push towards fantasy with Guardians of Galaxy.
