One of the panels to kick off in Hall H at Comic-Con on Friday was a huge deal: Steven Spielberg making his very first appearance ever. The crowd stood up with a thunderous applause when the man stood on the stage. And if that wasn’t enough, Peter Jackson also took the stage with Spielberg, and was greeted with a loud ovation as well.

  • Missing in Comic-Con

Okay, I’m kidding about the missing part. I’ve been absent on here due to having a blast at Comic-Con. I’ve hit up panels, had some laughs, saw some exclusive footage and took some notes — not to mention there’s a bunch of photos to show off as well. So yes, expect some blog entries on Comic-Con starting on Monday and throughout the week.

Now if you’ll excuse me — I have a certain convention to go back to.

Official Photo of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd

A new photo for the remake of Judge Dredd unveiled online with Karl Urban in full costume. The remake will take more inspiration from the 2000 AD comic rather than the original film that starred Sylvester Stallone. The Stallone version was a lot of fun, but I’m intrigued by the fact that the remake wants to focus more on the authoritarianism that the comic portrays.

  • The First Poster for The Dark Knight Rises is Released

The first poster for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is released by Warner Bros., on www.thedarkknightrises.com. It’s reminiscent of Nolan’s film Inception, but hey . . . it does play off the escalation angle — and the bat symbol being formed by the skyscrapers is a nice touch.
