Filming for Marvel’s highly anticipated movie The Avengers is underway, and Tom Hiddleston who plays the main villain Loki had an interview with Total Film about reprising his role.

Some quotes, you ask?

“The fun thing about Loki is that he goes 1-on-1 with every single Avenger.”

“Loki has become so menacing that they all have to team up and overcome their differences to stop him.”

–Tom Hiddleston

It sounds like it’ll be a lot of fun having Loki fighting against each Avenger before finally facing off against them all at once.

And it’s good to know that the Avengers will have struggles with each other. It’s almost a given that Tony Stark and Steve Rogers will butt heads a lot.

Total Film then asked Hiddleston who was the toughest to fight:

“I think I can dismiss the mere mortals, so Captain America may be a super soldier but he’s still a man and he’s up against Loki, who’s a God. I think Iron Man’s blasters hurt a bit.

But I think it comes down to his thunderous brother. No one is harder to fight than his brother because there’s all that angst within him. Thor still comes out on top.”

How peculiar that Hiddleston made no mention of the Hulk, whose strength only increases the more angry he becomes. Wouldn’t he be a huge threat to the god of mischief?

Then again, it could all be clever misdirection by Hiddleston to throw fans off — or we’re just reading too much into it.

Nevertheless, I’m stoked for The Avengers and can’t wait for it to hit theaters May 4, 2012.
