Arnold Schwarzenegger’s last movie was Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, just before his main focus became politics; also known as being “the Governator of California”. It was — as many would guess — a huge blow to the action genre. It was years later when he returned to film in merely a cameo in The Expendables and his likeness used in Terminator Salvation.

It will be a huge welcome when he finally makes his actual return to cinema, co-starring in The Expendables 2, which comes out this week. But was working on one film per year enough for Schwarzenegger? Of course not! He stars in the movie The Last Stand, fighting against a Mexican drug cartel as a small-town border sheriff.

I’m really stoked that Schwarzenegger is making a full return to film without any signs of stopping; with two movies months apart, he is also filming The Tomb with Sylvester Stallone.

The Last Stand brings Arnold Schwarzenegger back in the limelight in theaters January 18, 2013.
