Former governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger’s time in office has ended months ago, and his return to film has finally become official. He will star in the film adaptation of N. Richard Nash’s novel entitled Cry Macho.

The premise? Schwarzenegger will portray a horse breeder whose wife and kid get killed. He falls into a depression and alcoholism which leads him to working for a hedge fund manager, who offers an ultimatum: bring back his son from his ex-wife in Mexico or get fired.

It’s not really what most people expected for Arnold’s return to cinema. Then again, the man did spend almost a decade in office and is 63-years-old. It wouldn’t make sense for him to jump straight into an action film.

Nevertheless, he’s a lot of fun on the big screen and I look forward to his return.
