Finally more news comes in for 20th Century Fox’s comic adaptation of Deadpool: Tim Miller, the man who has done effects work on the first two X-Men films and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will direct. It’ll be interesting since it’ll be his first time directing a feature-length film.
Peter Jackson continues bringing people on board for The Hobbit (part 1 and 2) who had a hand in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Andy Serkis, who portrayed Gollum, won’t just reprise his role, but will fill in the role of the second unit director on both films of The Hobbit.
Warner Bros. released a trailer showcasing their reboot of the cartoon ThunderCats at WonderCon.
Warner Bros. showed off footage from Green Lantern at WonderCon, and what can I say? It shows a different tone from the prior trailers, which seemed to rely on humor. The new footage focuses on the scope of the impending danger, the Green Lantern Corps. and Hal Jordan’s induction.
I gotta admit: I’m now stoked for Green Lantern.
The film comes out June 17, 2011.
Marvel Studios made another change to The Avengers lineup which involves the part of the Hulk being recast once again. Action star and philanthropist Chris Norton will now portray Bruce Banner in the film. Joss Whedon explained that Chris Norton earned the part due to “that look in his eyes, where you know he’s on the verge of snapping”.
Michael Bay recently cast an actor for Transformers: Dark of the Moon who is a very welcomed surprise for old school fans of the series. Yes, that’s right, the actor who voiced Galvatron in the Transformers animated movie in 1986 will make his return to the franchise. Leonard Nimoy will voice Sentinel Prime, the former leader of the Autobots.
