I can’t say I ever read the books because I’m a dirty heathen, but I was a fan of both film versions of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Besides the riveting story and the intrigue of the characters, I also liked seeing laptops being a main prop since I’m a huge computer nerd and oh god why am I telling you this.
I lean towards the American version thanks to everybody involved, and “Cat!” remains one of my favorite lines.
Sky set along with plans to adapt The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo into a TV series, and they have their cast. A plethora of actors have joined to round out the Vanger family, and they join Viola Prettejohn who plays Lisbeth Salander, and David Oyelowo who portrays Mikael Blomkvist.
Fans of The Crown may have their interest piqued with Prettejohn in the lead role, and fans of Silo should be excited to see Oyelowo starring opposite.
Seeing as how The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has a mystery at the center of it all, and all the drama between the characters, it’s very fitting for a TV series. Once filming is finished, the series will be available on Sky, and for us Americans and others, will have it provided by Sony Pictures Television.
