Silo was never on my radar because I didn’t have Apple TV up until this current season of Formula 1. And this season of F1 for the U.S. meant needing an Apple TV subscription to watch, so obviously I had to do just that, and promptly linked it to the F1 app. A few months later I finally went on the Apple TV with my partner to add random TV shows and movies to our watch-list. She mentioned that she read Silo and heard that the show was pretty good.
We put it on.
I was hooked instantly. The cinematography and the music was captivating; the characters were extremely interesting and they felt real. It had me wanting to understand them more, since they all had similar goals but had very different ideas of how to reach them, which was putting them at odds. There was a mystery that became mysteries, but rather than being frustrating, it made me want to see how it all unfolds, and how someone solves them. Silo almost had a detective noir feel. All the pieces of it just fit.
Silo had me hooked to the point that I would make a joke in the evening with my partner, saying, “I can’t binge watch tonight, so we can only watch one season tonight”. Admittedly, we are kinda getting through the series a little quick. We’re nearing the end of season 2.
What also piqued my interest when we were scrolling through TV shows was that it stars Rebecca Ferguson and Common. Two actors who I enjoy a lot.
Currently there are three seasons on streaming, with the fourth and final season releasing sometime in 2027.
Maybe. Just maybe. We can pace ourselves with season 3 and lead into season 4 when it comes out.
