I’m gonna be honest. I completely forgot that there was going to be a crossover film about Transformers and G.I. Joe. And why wouldn’t I forget? Sure, they were preparing for the crossover, with a character from the Transformers movies being approached by a G.I. Joe recruiter, but it was ultimately forgettable in an equally forgettable movie. Maybe I’m being a bit harsh, but do you remember much from Transformers: Rise of the Beasts?
Besides that point, the studios are also hesitant about Transformers since it’s no longer making a billion dollars in the box office, completely ignoring that everybody can’t afford things nowadays. I guess that is also besides the point. Carrying forward, any plans for the crossover has been effectively cancelled, with G.I. Joe heading in a different direction with the next entry. Which is a good thing. Sure, they had crossovers in the comics, but it seems a little too bizarre to do the same in the live action versions.
With that said, Bumblebee is the best Transformers movie by far, and it’s also the correct opinion. Go rewatch that. It’s very enjoyable.
