Luckily Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome isn’t abandoned as first hinted. Rather than being your usual television show, the prequel to Battlestar will be released as a web series on Machinima. The episodes are broken up into 7-12 installments for the format change.

Blood and Chrome follows the first Cylon war, focusing on a young William Adama who’s serving as a viper pilot on the — you guessed it — Battlestar Galactica.

Luke Pasqualino will portray Adama; and I must mention, his clothing in the show drew inspiration from both the original Battlestar and the re-imagining from Ron Moore. It’s a welcomed detail and helps bridge the gap between the two versions.

Besides the web series, Blood and Chrome will air on Syfy in 2013 as a two-hour movie. Afterwards an unrated version will be released on DVD.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome will hit the web this week on the 9th. And anyone who knows me knows that I’ll be watching it.

Oh yeah — a new trailer was released online as well. You know the drill. Check it out. You know you want to.
