News on the remake of Robocop continues to surprise me. First, we had Joel Kinnaman taking up the role of Alex Murphy, who becomes Robocop; then Gary Oldman comes onboard as the scientist who creates him, and Samuel L. Jackson as a media mogul. And now? Hugh Laurie of House will portray the villainous CEO of Omnicorp.

Just like in the original, Omnicorp invests in the creation of Robocop — and as we can expect, the board members and Laurie will be entertaining sociopaths.

My interest in Robocop has become pure excitement. Director Jose Padilha has one hell of a cast forming with actors who are highly regarded and capable of bringing a biting sense of humor.

Robocop releases in theaters summer 2013.
