• Ian McShane Joins Jack the Giant Killer

    Actor Ian McShane from the soon-to-be-released Pirates of the Caribbean is cast as King Brahmwell and father of the princess in Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer.

    The film is a retelling of Jack and the Beanstalk, telling the story of the farm boy (Nicholas Hoult) disregarding the uneasy peace between humans and giants to lead a group to save the princess (Eleanor Tomlinson) held hostage by a giant.

    Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Bill Nighy and John Kassir are also cast.

    The new trailer for Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides has made its way online. And unlike the two previous films, On Stranger Tides looks more focused and fun. In fact, it looks like the sequel The Curse of the Black Pearl deserved.

  • Second Animated Short for Sucker Punch by Ben Hibon

    Another visually stunning animated short by Ben Hibon for Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch is making rounds. This time, the short centers around a knight’s quest against orcs and ultimately facing a dragon.

    Ben Hibon is the man responsible for the animated short in part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows entitled The Tale of Three Brothers.

  • Darren Aronofsky Not Directing The Wolverine

    Oscar-nominated director Darren Aronofsky has unfortunately left the director’s seat in The Wolverine starring Hugh Jackman. The new movie is a stand-alone, separate from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and deals with Logan’s adventures in Japan. And due to this, Aronofsky reasoned that he doesn’t want to spend almost a year in Japan and away from family.

    Another trailer for Steven Spielberg’s and J.J. Abrams’ film Super 8 has hit the net. There’s a definite vintage Spielberg feel to the teaser and it’s very promising.
