A Scene from ‘The Vampire Lestat’

At this point many people who know me know that I consider Interview with the Vampire the greatest show in existence. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, the music; every little aspect is clearly and carefully thought out. I could talk for hours about everything it gets right (which is everything).

The story from Interview with the Vampire was reaching its conclusion in season 2, and it was clear that the show as going to keep moving. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that season 3 would mean going into another Anne Rice novel; we were heading into The Vampire Lestat.

Spoiler alert ahead if you haven’t watched the show

Daniel’s book is finally out, and Lestat is clearly unhappy with how he’s portrayed in it. If the scene recently released for season 3 is anything to go by, a certain jealousy is a motivator for Lestat to dive headfirst in becoming a rockstar in the modern times. Lestat always had love for the arts, but his love for Louis, and especially his overwhelming jealousy, are all driving forces in his life.

I’m very, very excited for The Vampire Lestat. The drama, the toxicity, and the attention whoring are going to be enthralling.
