Emilia Clarke to Play Sarah Connor in ‘Terminator: Genesis’

The first movie in the rebooted Terminator franchise is entitled Terminator: Genesis. But who is going to play the role of Sarah Connor was up in the air. There was speculation, but things have become official: Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke will take up the role.

It’s not too much of a surprise. Alan Taylor is the director, who has directed Thor: The Dark World — oh, and some show called Game of Thrones. By “some show” I mean you should watch it if you haven’t already.

Coincidentally, Clarke is the second actress on the show to portray Sarah Connor. Lena Headey also played the role in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Headey was a fantastic Sarah Connor, so it wouldn’t hurt Clarke to get some pointers from her. Although, Clarke has an air of confidence that will translate perfectly for Sarah Connor.

The rest of the casting is still speculation. Except for Arnold Schwarzenegger. He will reprise his role as the Terminator.

Terminator: Genesis is in theaters July 1, 2015.
