Joss Whedon Begins Filming The Avengers

Marvel Studios means business with its film adaptations. The Avengers officially started shooting today under director Joss Whedon, who had this to say on his website:

“[fusion_builder_container hundred_percent=”yes” overflow=”visible”][fusion_builder_row][fusion_builder_column type=”1_1″ background_position=”left top” background_color=”” border_size=”” border_color=”” border_style=”solid” spacing=”yes” background_image=”” background_repeat=”no-repeat” padding=”” margin_top=”0px” margin_bottom=”0px” class=”” id=”” animation_type=”” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_direction=”left” hide_on_mobile=”no” center_content=”no” min_height=”none”][…] So wish me luck. DO IT! LUCK! NOW! I’m off to finish some Buffy pages, and then figure out what the movie is about already. I’m pretty sure it’s about the Justice League [Marvel Lawyers re-enter, unspeakability occurs] or possibly something else. I’ll get it. I’ve been looking forward to this. For about 46 years.”

Whedon genuinely wants to make a film that all the fans will enjoy, as he stated at 2010’s Comic-Con. And hopefully he pulls off the incredible feat of directing a movie full of so many actors who starred in their own Marvel films.

Good luck, Joss Whedon! Make us proud.

The Avengers is slated for release on May 4, 2012.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
