Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man had Oscorp playing a significant role in the plot, but there was no sight of Norman Osborn. All we got was some mentions and a shadowy figure that implied the man. The sequel is underway and one of the casting announcements was Dane DeHaan of Chronicle as Norman’s son, Harry Osborn. With Harry and two villains cast, it seemed unlikely that Norman Osborn would enter the picture.
By unlikely, I mean that Norman Osborn was finally cast in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Actor Chris Cooper of Adaptation will portray the role. Seeing as how both Electro and Rhino will face off against Spider-Man, it’s very unlikely that Norman will don the Green Goblin costume. Instead, we should expect foreshadowing for the villain who had the biggest impact in Peter Parker’s life.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is slated for release May 2, 2014.
