In 2005, Peter Jackson and director Neill Blomkamp were set to film an adaptation of the immensely popular game Halo. It ultimately didn’t come to fruition and the rights reverted back to Microsoft. The possibility of a movie was not forgotten though.

Microsoft decided to take things into their own hands to develop a Halo film. But instead of releasing a feature-length movie, Microsoft is focusing on one of their strong points: online content. Just this month they began releasing episodes of their live-action web series Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn; which is tied to the game bearing the same name that releases November 6.
