Writer and director Joss Whedon has become sought after ever since the massive success with Marvel’s The Avengers. He’s developing a S.H.I.E.L.D. television show for ABC, and laying down the groundwork for the already anticipated The Avengers 2.

If that isn’t enough, the CW secured the rights to air Whedon’s web show, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, starring Neil Patrick Harris, Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day.

The show was conceived during the writers’ strike in 2008. Joss Whedon filmed with friends and family while funding the musical with his own money. Why sit around waiting for the strike to end when you can have fun with friends making a musical web show?

Now here we are, four years later, and the musical comedy will air on network television. Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog will premiere October 9 on the CW. To be more specific, 9 PM.

I wonder if Fox has any regrets about Joss Whedon.
